Buffalo Narrows, SK
This morning I was contacted by Saskatchewan Health informing me that I was in contact late last week with a person who was in contact with a person who tested positive with the COVID 19 virus. As part of their protocol they will not disclose where and when the contact was made, and also the identity of the potential carrier of the virus who I was in contact with.
Based on their assessment questions and protocol it was strongly recommended that I go into two weeks of self-isolation. I am currently at home in Buffalo Narrows and have not been able to travel back to Ottawa due to the advisories not to travel.
I will follow this 2 week self-isolation advice, stay at home in isolation and thereby negate the potential of passing on the virus to others if in fact I have been infected.
I advise all Métis Nation citizens to pay attention to the dangers of this virus and practice proper procedures as governments and health authorities are daily advising. We must ensure that we not only protect ourselves from contacting the virus, but also importantly, that we do not transmit it to others.
Please be safe and in good health.
